Gillamoor Village.
Gillamoor remains an unspoiled working village, through which sheep are regularly herded and farmers are seen going about their daily tasks. There are three farms within the village boundary.
At one end of the village, the picturesque church of St Aidan sits on 'Surprise View', which is a dramatic and panoramic view of the moors, while in the main street is the Wesleyan chapel. Both have interesting histories.
Our local inn, 'The Royal Oak', is 50 yards away from the cottage door and serves excellent food and beers. In this picture of Gillamoor's village green, Keeper's Cottage is situated in the trees, directly beyond the parked car
Although perched on the edge of the North York Moors, Gillamoor has easy access to Kirkbymoorside (2 miles) and Pickering (10 Miles) where there are a variety of food shops and supermarkets for general provisions.
